About Captain Jay

Jay Potts is a Licensed Master Captain (50 tons) and a proud lifelong resident of Lower Brazoria County. With over 50 years of fishing experience in the local waters, Jay’s journey began under the guidance of his grandfather and has been enriched by numerous mentors along the way.
After a successful career in Environment, Health and Safety at Dow Chemical, Jay decided to follow his true passion: teaching others the art of fishing. His deep knowledge and love for the sport make him an exceptional guide.
In addition to his guiding expertise, Jay is a master custom rod builder and a lure designer with 15 years of experience. This unique background allows him to experiment with various fishing techniques, ensuring that every trip is tailored to the needs and preferences of his clients.
